Esta misma tarde se han otorgado los premios Cinema Eye Honors, referidos a los mejores documentales de 2013. Las dos principales favoritas al Oscar han conseguido los galardones principales The Act of Killing, ha sido galardonada como la Mejor película documental, y Sarah Polley ha conseguido el premio a la Mejor dirección por el documental Stories We Tell. Otro de los documentales que ha causado sensación, Leviathan, se lleva el premio a Mejor fotografía, y lo más destacado ha sido el premio mejor corto documental a la española Una historia para los Modlin, dirigida por Sergio Oksman.
